ROBERT T. YARBOROUGH
Robert T. Yarborough is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, instructor
pilot, and combat veteran of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Gulf War. He has logged over 5000 flight hours in eight different types of
military and eight different types of civilian aircraft
including helicopters, jets, transports, aerobatic trainers, light twins, and gliders.
Robert's last assignment was as the commander of the Rocky Mountain Liaison Region covering
Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and Montana as the Air Force's senior advisor to
the AF Auxiliary (Civil Air Patrol) in the region. During his 25 years of
service, Robert lived abroad for 8 years and traveled to over 45 other
countries including Japan, Korean, Germany, Morocco, Oman, Jamaica, Bolivia and
many others.
He has
studied martial arts for over 30 years and actively taught for over 20 of those.
Robert began formal martial
arts training in at 14 and was awarded a Shodan in Karate in 79. He
holds master level certification in Taekwondo,
Tangsoodo, and Combat Hapkido, as well as black belt certification in
traditional Hapkido, Jujutsu, and Karate. In 1997 he was an International
Martial Arts Hall of Fame inductee as Instructor of the Year and in 2001
received the Silver Life Achievement Award from the United States Martial Artist
Association.
In addition to his work in the Martial Arts and the Air Force, Robert is a certified Scuba
diver and award winning photographer with hundreds of images
published in international newspapers and magazines, including the cover photo
for the 2000 Castroville Visitor's Guide.
Robert is also a Certified Fitness and Nutrition
Counselor, Master Herbalist,
Brain Integration Therapist, and Reiki Master. He holds a Bachelors of Professional
Aeronautics, a masters in Computer Resource and Information Management and is
currently a doctoral candidate.
